What bird is best for me to keep as a pet? - Pets Care

I?m a 13 year old girl (I live in the UK) and I really want a bird, nothing to expensive cause my parents will be annoyed with me. But yeah, I want a bird that is fairly easy to keep and wont make to much noise at night. My neighbours have Zebra Finches and they put a cover over the cage at night to make them more quiet but how quiet does this make them?

Also I want to raise a bird from when it is in an egg if that is legal, so if anyone knows where to get bird eggs can they please tell me?

Parakeets ? Parakeets are very fun birds and are the most common companion pet bird. They are fun, easy, gentle, and nce to care for. If you get a parakeet, consider buying another parakeet for them to play with each other and be buddies if you don?t have the time to interact with him/her.If you cover their cage at dusk [ when it gets dark ] , they will stop chirping and settle down to sleep. It is important that you remember to uncover your Parakeet at dawn [ when it gets light ] .

It is important that you know raising any animal from an egg is hard & even harder with baby Birds, who need to have just the right temperature, the perfect amount of hand-fed food, and a decently sized safe area to roam about. If you are considering this option, please note that you should do extensive research.

I hope I helped! If you have any questions, feel free to email me at emily_chhay@yahoo.com

Whoa girl. Do not think you can raise a bird from an egg. This is a skill not easily learned and people who try it end up killing the baby accidentally. You are on the right track ? you want a hand raised, hand fed bird so it will like to cuddle and be held. I suggest a lovebird or a cockatiel.

All birds sleep at night except for nocturnal birds so all pet birds should be covered with a dark sheet at dusk. And the cover removed after dawn.

If you can find a breeder that is best ? NOT a pet store.

What about a budgie? I had one for 2 years and it never made a lot of noise at night. I?m not sure about the egg though, as you wouldn?t be able to buy it that young, just go to your local pet store and see what they can offer you.

Parrot. It probably sleeps at night so you don?t have to worry about it making noises. And you can train it to make fun of other people.

how about a littleparrotlet i had 3of them at difference times

Make sure your parents are okay with this, first. Make sure you have options for when you go to college. Birds live a long time, and they don?t adjust to their owner?s changing schedules well, at all.

Finches are pretty much some of the quietest birds there are. If they are still too loud, DO NOT GET A BIRD. You will end up rehoming him. All birds are quiet at night if left undisturbed. They are more vocal in the AM and PM.

It may be legal to purchase eggs in the UK, but it is dumb and irresponsible. Baby birds need to be hand fed all hours of the day and night. Do you expect it to survive going hungry when you?re in school, and asleep? Can you wean a baby bird? I don?t think so. The sale of unweaned birds should be illegal.

Now for your real questions: I think a rosey bourke is perfect. The size of a budgie, they come in many colors (rosey bourkes are pink). Hand raised bourkes are very friendly, pretty, and very quiet.
