PETE ROCK & LUPE SQUASH T.R.O.Y FEUD ? INDUSTRY ALL ...

PETE ROCK & LUPE SQUASH T.R.O.Y FEUD

Sometimes sampling and remixing are flattering and appreciated within the music industry, but when it comes to those that are considered ?legendary?, some records are just off limits and should never be touched. Rapper and producer, Pete Rock, surely believes that this idea of keeping legendary tracks unaltered is true. That is why when hip hop artist Lupe Fiasco sampled Rock and C.L. Smooth?s ?They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y)? for his own recent single, ?Around My Way (Freedom Ain?t Free)? off of his new album Food & Liquor II,? Pete Rock voiced his disapproving thoughts openly to the public via Twitter.

Though having no personal issue with Lupe, Pete Rock surely had a problem with the producer/label heads who thought it a good idea to reuse the T.R.O.Y instrumental. Rock criticized the industry by tweeting, ?This business can be so lame. Sometimes, I make beats blindfolded with one hand tied behind my back and still these cats can?t be original too. So untalented and unoriginal. Makes me feel like I?m truly the best that ever did it.?

As of recently, Pete Rock and Lupe Fiasco have come to terms with the situation and have gotten things squared away. The popular social media site, Twitter, was used as the outlet once again.

?Shout to the friends & family for bringing some internal closure to this?all g on this side Pete?Big Chuck whaddup?#MyGodFoRealListen,? Lupe tweeted.

Pete Rock tweeted, ?I just got off da phone with Lupe. We worked out our differences and we bout to get it in. Gonna be epic and we gonna give Troy and Hev (Heavy D) the proper respect they deserve and make history with Lupe.

Seems as if we all can be on the lookout for a Pete Rock/Lupe Fiasco collaboration sometime in the future.
